If a man ever said this to me I’d be in shock. These lines are beautiful and would make anyone feel exalted. The author is obviously praising this person and loves them very much. This poem should be someone’s vowels at a wedding. In fact, I might use this poem for my own wedding and give special thanks to you. The tone of this poem is powerful and heartfelt. You can feel the sincerity and love towards one single person. The most angelic lines are

Mr. Donoso, I have to say you have captured me once again with another magnificent poem. How lovely it was! When I read the lines of the poem mentioned above I thought that the lady must be extremely beautiful for someone to say something like that. I mean, perfection is the ultimate thing, the best there can be, and it is very difficult to be perfect. But, this person is so extraordinary that the word “perfect” is not enough to describe her. It is definitely a wonderful line.
The tone of this poem is loving and candid. For me to show why the poem is loving I would have to type it all, but here are two lines that completely demonstrate this (and are two of my favorite lines): “I’ve journeyed a lifetime searching for happiness/ And have found that the trail ends inside your arms.” That was the perfect ending for the poem. There are two lines that clearly show why it is such an honest poem: “I speak to you with nothing less than honesty/ For you are all of what my heart tells me to be good.” Indeed, the author expresses himself without withholding any of his romantic feelings.
“You are the Eve of beauty” is an example of a metaphor. Eve was supposedly a beautiful woman. Therefore, she was like the best example of beauty. In this case, the author is comparing the lady to Eve, which means the lady is as astonishing as her, which in turn represents beauty. (Hopefully I’m right and was able to express myself coherently.) Another example of figurative language is the line, “Your smile is worth a million words,” because there is a comparison between all the sweet words that exist to her awe- striking smile.
I like the poem immensely because it is straightforward when the man is saying his feelings towards her and they are put in a poetic way. Take for instance the first three lines of the poem, “Has anyone ever told you that your eyes/ Are worth falling from heaven/ To gaze into at least once?” You are saying that her eyes can captivate anyone but in a more romantic way. Those words are ones that any girl would love to hear and I agree with the anonymous writer when she said, “If a man ever said this to me I’d be in shock.” It is an adoring poem whose words will stay in my mind for a very long time.

These particular lines in the poem affected me greatly; they stood out to me, and my admiration towards them increases with every read. These lines made me think the poet is speaking of a person, particularly a woman who is so beautiful, so ridiculously lovely that any man would go to such extremes as to starve themselves, wait until the end of time and even die just to experience “only the taste of her lips”, meaning only to kiss her. These lines also made me reflect not only on the perfection of a single person that would make one want to wait so long for another, but also what a kiss could mean from that single person.
The tone of this poem is undoubtedly appreciative. The poet is admiring this woman, whom he believes is an angel from Heaven, who is so worthy and perfect that man would do the unimaginable only to be with this woman. For example, the line “Your smile is worth a million words” proves this poem to be loving. It is showing that the poet respects this woman for all her greatness; he admires her and is conveying that in the poem.

When the poet writes, “Your smile is worth a million words,” he is saying that when the woman he is referring to is happy, and upon her face a smile shows, that very smile is worth a million words in the sense that not a single word can be used to describe it’s beauty. Yes, I absolutely loved this poem. It makes me think of that person who I believe has fallen from Heaven, who has brought me to appreciate them, everything they do and all that they stand for. This poem also captures the amount of admiration that the poet has for this woman that he is referring to, it not only allows me to imagine her beauty, but it shows how much the poet cares for her.
I agree with Anonymous when they say, “In fact, I might use this poem for my own wedding and give special thanks to you.” That’s actually amusing, but maybe I’ll consider it! However, I felt that this poem was powerful and that it may be used at a wedding to depict one’s affection towards their love is quite realistic.

This line made me low inside with happiness and love. The way the poet described his lover as something that is so beautiful that perfect is not a sufficient word that would be able to describe her. The word that is rarely used because our society is pounded with the idea that no one is perfect, yet the poet was adequately secure that his lover was more than perfect. This to me shows intense feelings, feelings that can’t even be described with the best words that one can possibly use to describe someone. When I read this line it reminds me of the models you see on television and in magazines. These people are so perfect and beautiful that your speechless and don’t know how to maneuver your vocabulary and answer someone when you’re asked you how they look. These people seem to exist in a land far from ours, in a land where perfect is left insufficient.
I believe the poem was intimate, loving and reflective. “I speak to you with nothing less than honesty, for you are all of what my heart tells me to be good.” This line shows how the poet expresses feelings that one does not say to anyone. To tell someone that your heart is telling you that your lover is all that is good and that you yearning for them is something that one does not share with everyone. Therefore intimate feelings are expressed making this poem somewhat sincere.

This is an excellent example of a hyperbole. It is an exaggeration because men wont actually wait, starve and die just to taste the lips of another person. The poet is trying to express the way that many men would go to the extreme just to kiss the tender lips of this one person. I do agree with what the first person to comment said about the line; “They would wait, starve, and die, if need be, to experience only the taste of your lips” being a hyperbole. A human person would not actually starve to death just so that they can kiss someone.
I loved this poem because of the way the poet expressed himself. Hyperboles can set the tone of a poem really well when it comes to strong emotions such as love or hate. The poet used many hyperboles, which truly helped him paint the picture in the reader’s mind and leave a hint of the intense feelings that were expressed through the poem.

It is the most beautiful line in the poem, any girl that hears this line is one of the luckiest. I’m speechless about the line it’s just so beautiful and has so much meaning to it. To me the line means that this guy truly believes this girl is the most beautiful possibly in the entire world. It is said that nobody is perfect but to him she is beyond perfection and left the word incomplete and lacking meaning with a whole new meaning. This line is truly amazing beyond all the others.

I love the poem. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best poem you have wrote Mr. Donoso keep up the good work. Honesty is a key for successful relationships. The lines “I speak to you with nothing less than honesty” really grabbed my attention. It causes me to think that when speaking with someone one using nothing less than honesty, one is truly speaking from their heart. I particularly took to attention this line because it deviates from the usual idea of love lines being about kissing, or things like deep rich colorful eyes. Instead of describing your admiration for someone the focus has changed to your dedication to them. Summoned up in one word brilliant.
The poem has the usual love theme but the tone is one of admiration. The beginning of the poem starts off with the beauty of the woman’s eyes. It continues with her smile, then her skin and so forth. This shows the admiration the author has for all this woman has to offer. The lines:

demonstrate yet another tone in the poem. It is evident that it is awe-struck. The author implies the idea of love at first sight, that she captures its true essence. In order to get in to such a state one must be awe-struck, because the beauty must mesmerize one to such an extent that it overtakes the body and mind. I enjoyed this poem, much more than the usual love poems because it just has great concepts, like “traveling the longest distances”, or in simpler terms doing anything to be with her. Also that men are haunted by her in their dreams, or are mentally overtaken by her and can’t get her out of their heads.
The hyperbole of her smile being worth a million words, is exaggerated because I doubt that there a million adjectives in the English language, and even if there was how could one use them all in one lifetime to describe one thing. But still that just signifies how her smile is indescribable. Another hyperbole is that the author searched a lifetime for happiness and he finally found it, signifying that it took him forever to be with the one he believes he was meant for. It is a hyperbole because if anyone searched for a lifetime for something they would be dead upon the second they found it, since a lifetime is technically one’s whole life. I agree and disagree with anonymous that, “You are the Eve of Beauty” is a metaphor, yet it also resembles a pun. The play on words here is that Eve is taking from Hebrew to mean “life”, one could say that she gives life to the word beauty. Also Eve being the first woman on earth was described as beautiful and eve can mean the preceding or beginning part of something. That is a pun because it plays on Eve the name of the first woman and eve the regular word.

The first impression the line imposed on me was a boggling affect. I literally had to read over the line a couple of times because my mind couldn’t see perfect-the great and wonderful perfect in which cannot be surpassed-to be insufficient. It oddly caught me off guard which in turn made me laughed at myself for not being able to comprehend the straightforward compliment at first glance. To reassure you, I deciphered its hidden meaning: The women being spoken about in the poem is so amazing that calling her perfect would not be sufficient, maybe so much as to be considered an insult like calling Donald Trump’s billion dollar 44-story towers a rat infested shack.
Numerous words can be used to describe the tone of this poem; complimentary, adoring, loving. But two words seemed to really capture the pure underlining tone, straightforward and entranced (to hold somebody's attention and produce a sense of wonder in that person). In the poem, I don’t feel as if you are holding back any of your feelings but I also do not feel as if you are speaking as a sergeant general who says this is this and that’s the way it is. The tone feels like deep thoughts being spoken aloud which gives me reason to believe that the tone is entranced. For example, in the lines, “I speak to you with nothing less than honesty, for you are all of what my heart tells me to be good.” The first part is saying that he, the poet, is being honest which is code for straightforward and the second part is one of many lines that is coated with awe-stuck that is equal to sounding

I don’t want to stamp this as a metaphor because I don’t believe it is making a comparison but I will say I think it is a hyperbole because it is somewhat exaggerating the things men would do for a kiss from the mystery lady. I really liked how the naming of the sacrifices built up. It gave it a very strong, epic feeling.

I like to believe this line is saying that the poet has been on a path that leads to happiness in the dark without a flashlight but when he finally arrived at the end to finally receive pure happiness, he sees that it is the mystery ladies love. This is a metaphor and in laymen terms it is simply saying that the poet has been searching for a long time for a true joy in his life and seems to have found it in the love that the mystery women gives to him. A small touched that I liked about the lines was the use of trail to signify your journey and the traits that may have been similar to a trail like it could have split into three roads in which you had to choose which to journey down to or the weather on certain parts of the trail could have been less than satisfactory.

In the three lines, it gives a specific example of what gazing into her eyes was worth instead of just saying your eyes are magical or something similar. Throughout the poem there are other examples and it makes the poem have good amount of depth.
Someone who chose to stay anonymous said the poem sounds like vows for a wedding and I would definitely have to agree. The statement made me think of how on T.V. they make the task of writing your own vows to be a dreaded process but I realized that it is probably very easy because it is just a poem. If 15 year- olds can do it for English class then I’m sure adults can too. Especially because they are doing it about someone they love, it should just flow out naturally.

For the word perfect to not be enough to describe this girl she must be pretty darn special. Perfect means flawless, no thing can contest it or compete; nothing can stand to her. I loved the way this line sounded it just made me stop and think of how special this girl must be. Kudos! Even with the “mushy-gushy” you always make me like your poems.

This line made me think of an anime called “One piece” which is about pirates risking their lives on a trip across the sea to find a treasure left by the greatest pirate ever and even if the pirates just get a glimpse of it, they feel accomplished because of how they value that treasure.

From this quote, I can determine that the tone of the poem is delicate and warm, as of a person telling their inmost feelings about the person they are in love with. This is obvious because the writer tells us of the person being extremely beautiful.

I like this poem because I think it was original and of good standing it was in relation with many things I know about and because it was easy to understand it and reading it is a time well spent.

Very beautiful, this is an excellently written testament to the beauty of this woman. A woman so beautiful, people would physically strain themselves to death the point of death, just for something as seemingly insignificant as a kiss. Of course, in this case, though, it it's a bit of a big deal ("...They would wait, starve, and die to experience only the taste of your lips...").
Exaggeration is put to good use here, with some of the exaggerations getting pretty over-the-top. My favorite is the one that shows that she has reached a level of perfection so high that she renders the word “perfect” unsuitable for describing it. Referring to her as the "Eve of beauty," a metaphor describing her as beautiful as the very first woman herself... or possibly just saying that she precedes beauty. You know what they say about writing; the writer's meaning is never the same as the reader's interpretation.

This line makes me think of a Greek goddess of beauty like Aphrodite (I don't know if that's Greek or Roman), Eve, like you said or even those mermaid sirens underneath the water luring them to their doom, although this doesn't seem to be doom, but happiness. This line made me feel like men are always after beauty, which isn't always true I suppose. This line shows an example of figurative language through a hyperbole. Most people will not literally wait, starve or die just for a kiss and I can see it is exaggerated. In a less literal sense, I also see waiting, starving and dying as a metaphor for going to other great lengths to be with someone.
I think the tone of this poem is caressing and affectionate because the writer talks highly and lovingly of their significant other. This line is very affectionate as it talks about how great the woman's smile is, which shows throughout the poem. I agree with Bibi when she says "The poet is admiring this woman, whom he believes is an angel from Heaven, who is so worthy and perfect that man would do the unimaginable only to be with this woman." I don't think there is anything I could have added to make that to fit more perfectly with this poem. I thought this poem was interesting, especially reading the extent of the men's sacrifices, and it is pretty good. Unfortunately though, this is not my favorite poem of yours, but then again, I really like those of yours that are out there, that change and can be percieved differently every time you read it.

The tone of this poem is admiring. The poet has an apparent love for this woman, so he seems to notice every little detail about her. Haha, seems like a stalker. But more seriously, he finds this woman to be more than perfect and he explains her beauty in full detail.

I really liked this poem. Unfortunately I think that your forgetting that the way that a women looks would not make almost every man fall in love with her. (It’s unethical.) Her looks might scare some men and it might remind them that they don’t stand a chance with her because they have relationship problems and they keep getting dumped. I thought that you would remember that love is more than physical attraction. It is also mental, and spiritual. But overall I think that this was a very enthralling poem.
I think that maybe you should focus on how great of a person you are and how someone would be lucky to be with you because it seems that you haven’t found the meaning of happiness in your life even though everything is going really great for you right now. It’s Ok. Based on your poem is seems that you long for a lasting companion other than family and friends. Maybe you should focus on other things such as some of the conflicts that our economy is facing and how you could help out. For example, you could use the money that you receive from your awesome book “Words Like Bitter Sweet Chocolate” to help fund research for the cure for some incurable disease, cancer or to send money to an organization that helps the less fortunate.
